3 Easy Steps to Get Started in Acrylic Painting

Firstly, What’s Been Holding You Back?

Is acrylic painting something you have been thinking about taking up as a hobby? Maybe you are ready to get started in acrylic painting but are hesitant to make a big commitment? Are you afraid you won’t be able to find the time to complete an art course? Are art courses too expensive?

Perhaps you’ve been watching some free online tutorials on sites like youtube or skillshare but feel like they are going too fast. Maybe they are not giving you the all the information you need to create your own artworks.

When I first learned to paint back in 1996 I was lucky enough to have a teacher who wasn’t afraid to share everything she knew about painting. Janey was so generous with her knowledge, not holding anything back, and I am sure this played a big part in me become a successful artist. That is why I am happy to do the same for my students some 25 years later.

These 3 Things Will Help Get You Started in Acrylic Painting

• Get yourself a painting equipment checklist.  This will save time and money when you are ready to dive in with the brushes and paints.  With the list you will know exactly what to buy and you won’t waste money on stuff you don’t need.  You can get one right now, for free, in the Free Resources section of the Blue Beach House Art .

• Try out some free tutorials so you can decide which style of acrylic painting will be the right choice for you. There are lots of methods you can use to create a beautiful painting. Everyone has their own unique style and every art teacher has a unique style too. You won’t know what your style is, though, until you dive in and get started. You can try out my free art tutorials here

• Once you have found an art teacher who you feel a connection with, gets what you are trying to do and explains things in a way you understand consider enrolling in an online art course. You don’t want to make a big commitment, though, unless you are sure you have found the right teacher. I suggest you look for a starter course or make sure the course you choose has a refund policy.

By the time you have completed these three steps you should have a pretty good idea if life as a successful acrylic artist is in your future.
